The Mountain Artists Guild (The Guild) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering education and appreciation of the visual arts in our community. We provide a welcoming environment, educational resources, and a vehicle to promote the fellowship of artists and artisans through membership, Art Center activities, and Galleries in support of our mission. Education - Advocacy - Fellowship in support of the visual arts. The Guild is one of the oldest organizations of its type in Arizona. Founded by Prescott residents including George Phippen, Mabel Laurence, and Frances Brown, the Guild has been in continuous operation since October of 1949. Through community outreach programming, the Guild seeks to help Prescott be known as a premier arts community within Arizona and the Southwest. We are committed to the respectful exchange of ideas and mutual support among artists of all abilities and cultural backgrounds.
In the service of our mission, the Guild promotes the creativity and artistic development of those we serve through art scholarships, veterans art classes, youth art programs, and other community outreach and educational programs. We wish to share our passion for the visual arts by sponsoring gallery events, juried competitions, and art festivals.
