Primary Medium: Ceramics
Secondary Medium: Mixed Media Demo: hand-building ceramics I create abstract expressionistic wall pieces, as well as whimsical and functional vessels and everyday ware. My work is earthy and organic, drawing on the inspiration of Mother Earth. I work without drawings, allowing each sculptural art piece to unfold organically. My art is a celebration of life! |
What Inspires Me: natural organic textures, tracks in mud and sand, tree bark, old rusty objects, weathered and worn wood, feathers and bones, the ocean, shells and crustaceans, warm and earthy colors
What Influences My Art: found objects, tracks in nature, natural colors of the desert, my interest in archaeology and tribal art
How I Recycle/Upcycle: I often find objects while hiking in the Southwest US. Friends also will give me interesting things they have found. All found objects are collected ethically. Most things have come from trash left behind on my property from years ago.
