Demo: hand-building with coils & slabs

I am a ceramic studio artist who pays attention to the natural world around me.I was raised in the Southwest, where the beauty and life of the land, with traces of those who came before me, quietly inform my work. Working in clay feels to me like participating in something both ancient and ongoing.
​What Inspires Me: hiking through the region’s rugged beauty with weathered granite boulders, ancient petroglyphs, cliff dwellings, the curves of manzanita, and the asymmetry of ponderosa pines
What Influences My Art: I am drawn to ancient art and the visual parallels that echo across cultures and centuries—especially in ceramics, sculpture, pottery and architecture. I notice recurring shapes and patterns as signs of a shared human impulse to create and make meaning.
How I Recycle/Upcycle: I recycle clay.
